Electronics and e-waste removal in Penticton, for what you can’t lift
Most e-waste doesn’t need a truck. A laptop and a bag of cords can ride to a depot on your next errand, and we’ll tell you that if you call.
If it fits in your car
The City of Penticton lists free drop-off for electronics and small appliances at PACE, 105 Martin St (entrance on Estabrook Ave), and at Campbell Mountain Landfill on Reservoir Road. Return-It at 310 Dawson Ave takes them too, including toasters, vacuums and microwaves, and Staples at 102 Warren Ave E takes old electronics.
Leaving a TV at the curb won’t work. The City’s April large item pickup doesn’t take electronics.
Why people call us anyway
A 32-inch tube TV weighs well over 100 pounds and has nowhere good to hold it. Getting one up from a basement rec room takes two people and a dolly. Rear-projection sets, floor copiers and back rooms full of old towers are the same story.
- Tube TVs, rear-projection sets and flat screens
- Desktop computers, monitors and printers
- Floor-standing copiers
- Stereos, speakers and receivers
- The box of cords that has moved with you twice
Wipe your drives first
Sign out of your accounts and erase the drive, or pull it and keep it. Return-It’s website has a how-to. We haul computers, but we don’t repair them or erase them, so whatever’s on a drive when it leaves your house is still on it.
Shops and offices
Shops don’t have to close to clear out a back room. Our hours run 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, so we can come when the place is quiet. If the whole office is moving, that’s our main line of work, and the old gear can leave at the same time.
Thank you Jeremy and Cory for a stress free move. They are quick and efficient. I would recommend them to anyone. It's also nice to know they make every effort to recycle. Thanks again!
Common questions
Where can I recycle electronics in Penticton?
Return-It at 310 Dawson Ave, PACE at 105 Martin St, Staples at 102 Warren Ave E and Campbell Mountain Landfill on Reservoir Road all take electronics. The City of Penticton lists PACE and the landfill as free drop-offs for electronics and small appliances.
Will you pick up one old TV?
Yes, if it’s too heavy for you. A tube TV on a second floor is worth a call. A small flat screen isn’t, because it fits in your car and the drop-off is free.
Do you wipe hard drives?
No. Erase the drive or remove it before pickup, because Junk In The Trunk hauls equipment and doesn’t touch the data on it.
How do you price e-waste pickup?
By how much of the truck it fills, the same as our other junk work, and you get the price before we start. If it’s small enough to drive to a depot yourself, we’ll tell you that instead.
