Osoyoos movers who’ll tell you what won’t fit

More than four in ten people in Osoyoos are 65 or older, and a lot of moves here are into a smaller place. It’s an hour from our yard, so we like to sort out what’s coming before the truck leaves Penticton.

About 1 hour

Dining table Hutch Spare bed Couch Bed Dresser Thrift store

Osoyoos draws retirees and seasonal residents, so a common job here is a house going into a condo, or a condo going into a place with more help. Measure the new rooms before moving day, or send us the floor plan, and we’ll tell you straight if the dining table is going to fit. Better to find out at your kitchen table than in an elevator.

We’re an hour from home down here, so we don’t leave until the place works. Beds go back together, the heavy dresser goes where you want it, and if you’d like the couch tried on the other wall, we’ll try it.

What the condo won’t hold

Whatever doesn’t fit the new place doesn’t have to come. Good pieces can go to our thrift store, where 5% of sales goes to the Salvation Army Food Bank in Penticton. We’ll haul the rest for what it takes up in the truck.

If you’re not in town on moving day

Plenty of places here are second homes, and the owner can be a province away when the truck pulls up. That works if someone has the key. We’ll phone you when we arrive and again when we’re done, and you can pay by e-transfer from wherever you are.

Highway 3 switchbacking up Anarchist Mountain, with Osoyoos Lake and the town far below

An hour down Highway 97, and up Anarchist

Osoyoos is 62 km from our yard, about an hour through Kaleden, Okanagan Falls and Oliver. A travel fee may apply, and it goes in your quote. The same road works in reverse for people heading back up to Penticton or Kelowna to be nearer the kids.

East of town is a steeper job. The East Bench is a short climb. Highway 3 up Anarchist Mountain is 18 km of switchbacks, rising nearly 700 m, and in winter that’s a road to take seriously. If you’re up there, say so when you call and we’ll pick the day with the forecast in mind.

Jeremy and his right hand man were excellent all around when it came to my move. Communication was clear, they worked carefully and still quickly, and worked miracles when it came to the items I was sure wouldn’t fit through doors without disassembly. I would happily use them again and have nothing but good things to say. Thanks guys!

Why might there be a travel fee to Osoyoos?
Osoyoos is 62 km and about an hour from Penticton, where Junk In The Trunk is based, so a travel fee may apply. You’ll see it in your quote before you book.
Can you help a senior move to a smaller place in Osoyoos?
Yes. We go at your pace, and the bed and the main pieces get set up in the new place before we drive home. If family is arranging an Osoyoos move from out of town, we’re glad to work with them by phone.
Can you do my Osoyoos move if I’m not there?
As long as someone can let us in, yes. We’ll phone you when we arrive and when we’re finished, and you can pay by e-transfer or card.
Do you move people up on Anarchist Mountain?
We do, and we plan those moves around the weather, because it’s an 18 km climb east of Osoyoos on Highway 3. In winter we’ll set a new date if the road isn’t safe for a loaded truck.

Send us the floor plan.

Jeremy usually gets back to you within the hour.
