Penticton movers, from the lakeshore to the top of Wiltse

We’ve been moving this town since 2019, out of a yard on Government Street, on the flat between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. The job changes by the block: a booked elevator on Martin Street, a steep driveway in Wiltse, a basement stair in Columbia built before anyone owned a sectional.

Two lakes, two hillsides and the flat bit in between

  • West Bench
  • Uplands and Redlands
  • Wiltse and Valleyview
  • Upper Carmi
  • Skaha Hills
  • North End
  • Downtown
  • Columbia and Duncan
  • South Main
  • Skaha Lake

Near the water, the hard part is usually the building. Lakeshore Towers on Martin Street and the newer towers on Skaha Lake Road are stratas. Ask yours three things before moving day: does the elevator need booking, is there a move fee, and where can a truck sit while we load. Elevators quit, too. We’ve carried a full load up three flights in a Penticton condo because the elevator was out that morning.

Then the ground starts to climb. Wiltse and Valleyview go up the east side, and Upper Carmi is higher again. Skaha Hills is on the slope past the airport, and the West Bench looks down from across the channel. Up there it comes down to the driveway. If a truck can’t get close, or it’s January and the slope is ice, we park on the street and carry. That takes longer, and you’re paying by the hour, so you’ll hear it from us when we quote.

So glad I chose Junk in the Trunk for my move. Jeremy and his team are the best. Great communication, friendly, fast, and they really took care of my belongings. Even my 8 foot tall Bird of Paradise plant! They made my move stress free. They should be your first choice in Penticton.

Month-end and Peach Festival week

The end of the month books up first, and month-end weekends from June through August go fastest. If your lease or possession date gives you any room, a weekday in the middle of the month is the easiest thing to book. We can often fit in a same-day job, but don’t count on that for the last Saturday in July.

Peach Festival in early August is the other week to plan around. Most years, part of Lakeshore Drive by Okanagan Lake Park closes for a few days. You can’t park along the parade route through downtown on the Saturday, and Main Street shuts for the kids’ parade on Sunday morning. If you’re moving near downtown that week, we’ll pick a day and an hour when the truck can reach your door.

Across town, or out of it

Some of the shortest moves here take the most patience. A parent leaving the family house for a suite at Athens Creek on Warren Avenue or The Concorde on Skaha Lake Road is going from a lifetime of furniture to a few rooms. We go at the speed that day needs, and the bed and the good chair get set up before we leave.

The long ones start on Highway 97. Kelowna and Vernon are straight up it, and we’ve done Penticton to Chilliwack over the passes in February, with snow on the road. You’ll get a call the night before to confirm, and another if the highway changes the plan.

What doesn’t make the trip

A move is a good time to stop paying to carry things you don’t want. We can haul the old couch and the garage leftovers too. Anything still good goes to our thrift store, and 5% of those sales goes to the Salvation Army Food Bank here in Penticton, about $17,485 so far.

How much do movers cost in Penticton?
Junk In The Trunk charges by the hour and gives you the rate up front, so your total depends on how long the move takes. There’s no travel fee inside Penticton. Stairs, long carries and how much is packed when the crew arrives make the biggest difference.
Who are the best movers in Penticton?
We’re a poor judge of that, so here’s the record. Junk In The Trunk is the family company Jeremy and Anna Evans started in Penticton in 2019. In 2026 it won Best Moving Company in the Best of the South Okanagan and gold for Moving Company in Best of Penticton, and it sits at 5.0 on Google from more than 100 reviews.
Can I get Penticton movers on short notice?
Often, yes. Jeremy answers the phone himself, so you’ll know right away if a same-day Penticton move fits the schedule. We work 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and month-end weekends in summer are the hardest days to get.
Can you move me into a Penticton condo with elevator rules?
Yes. Book the elevator with your strata if it asks for that, send us the time window and any move-in rules, and we’ll plan the day around them. If the elevator is out we’ll use the stairs, and we’ve done that with a full load up three flights.

Tell us which block you’re on.

Jeremy usually gets back to you within the hour.
