Oliver movers who start before the heat does

Oliver has the Golden Mile on one side and the Black Sage Bench on the other, and in July it gets hot enough to change how we run a move. We can start at 7 a.m. and have the heavy pieces on the truck before the afternoon.

Why we start at 7 in July

Summers here are hot and dry, and by two in the afternoon in July the only thing happy outside is a grape. On a summer move we start early and load the sofas, beds and appliances first, while the morning is still cool. The crew stays quicker that way, and you pay for fewer hours.

A hot truck is hard on some things. Wine, candles, vinyl records, medication and houseplants should ride with you in the car, with the air conditioning on. Everything else gets wrapped and loaded as usual.

Road 1 is a long way from Road 22

Rural Oliver runs on numbered roads, and “just out past town” doesn’t tell a driver much, so give us the road number. Homes along the Golden Mile and Black Sage Road often come with a lane and a shop, and at harvest we allow extra time for tractors and fruit bins.

From Penticton, and on to Osoyoos

It’s 40 km from our yard, about 40 minutes through Okanagan Falls and past Vaseux Lake. A travel fee may apply, and we’ll quote it before you book. The same goes for a move from Oliver down to Osoyoos, because the truck still has to get here from Penticton first. If the highway closes near Road 22, Black Sage Road is the way around.

Very professional, and top notch with everything they do! Definitely the best movers in south okanagan!

Yards, sheds and shop clean-outs

We clear yards and shops around Oliver too. Dirt, brick and concrete go by weight, and the rest goes by how much of the truck it fills. About 90% of what we haul gets donated, resold or recycled.

How does the travel fee work for Oliver?
Oliver is 40 km and about 40 minutes from our Penticton yard, so a travel fee may apply. Junk In The Trunk always quotes it up front, so you’ll know the number before you book.
Can movers start early in Oliver to avoid the heat?
Yes. Our day starts at 7 a.m., seven days a week, so a summer move in Oliver can have the heavy lifting done before the afternoon.
Do you move people between Oliver and Osoyoos?
We do. Oliver to Osoyoos is a short drive, but the truck starts in Penticton, so we price the whole trip and tell you any travel fee first.
