Moving day at the end of Naramata Road
Naramata Road leaves Penticton, winds up the east side of Okanagan Lake and stops at the village, with vineyards on the bench above it. There’s no highway and no back way in for a moving truck, so the road is part of the plan.

One slow road in
It’s about 15 km from our yard, and it isn’t a fast 15. From spring to harvest you share the road with cyclists, wine tours and people looking at the view instead of the traffic. We leave early and count the drive as part of the day.
The bench is where the job changes. A lot of it is farmland, vineyards now or orchards still, and many homes are down a gravel lane with a shop out back. A low branch or a tight gate is worth knowing about before the truck turns in, so send a photo of the lane with your quote request. In the village it’s older cottages on smaller lots, and the questions are about parking and doorways.
Into Penticton, or the long way to Kelowna
Coming into Penticton from Naramata is the short one, and there’s usually no travel fee. If you’re trading an acreage for a condo by the lake, we’ll tell you which pieces won’t fit before we load them.
Kelowna looks close from here, and your phone may even suggest Chute Lake Road. A loaded moving truck goes back through Penticton and up Highway 97, so that’s the trip we’ll quote.
Contacted Jeremy for a home move in Penticton. Very responsive on the phone, booked in date and start time. I was contacted the night before to confirm. Jeremy and his colleague Cory arrived on time and were fantastic. The truck was loaded and unloaded in great time. Everything arrived in perfect condition. Great guys, very personable and would use again.
What’s been sitting in the barn
Farm places collect things. We can clear out old furniture, a dead fridge or the pile behind the shop, and brick or concrete goes by weight. Old orchard sprays are the exception, because we can’t take chemicals. Check with the RDOS on where those go.
- Do Penticton movers charge a travel fee to Naramata?
- Not usually. Naramata is about 15 km from our yard in Penticton, and Junk In The Trunk would tell you when quoting if your job were an exception.
- Can a moving truck get down a gravel lane on the Naramata Bench?
- Usually, but it depends on the width, the turns and any low branches. Send a photo of the lane with your quote request. If the truck has to stop short, we’ll plan on a longer carry and tell you how that changes the time.
- How do movers get from Naramata to Kelowna?
- Back through Penticton and north on Highway 97. Chute Lake Road is no route for a loaded moving truck, so that’s the trip Junk In The Trunk will quote for a Naramata to Kelowna move.
Send us a photo of the lane.
Jeremy usually gets back to you within the hour.
