Your Kaleden movers are 13 km up the highway
Kaleden is about 1,200 people on the west shore of Skaha Lake, with streets named after trees and the shell of a hotel that shut for the First World War and never reopened. We’re 15 minutes up the road in Penticton.
Below the highway, above the lake
Most of Kaleden is on the slope between Highway 97 and Skaha Lake. A loaded truck waits its moment in the highway traffic, turns off at Lakehill Road and works down through streets like Alder, Cedar, Oak and Ponderosa toward the water. A century ago all this was apricot orchards, and many of the lots were cut into that hillside, so driveways can be short and steep.
On a lot like that, the walk from the truck to the door decides the day. A lake house can put a narrow side path and a full flight of stairs between the truck and the living room. None of that stops a move, but it adds time. Walk Jeremy through it on the phone: where a truck can stop, how many steps, which way the stairs turn.
Fifteen minutes from the yard
Kaleden to Penticton is 13 km along Skaha Lake, and there’s usually no travel fee. That makes small jobs sensible here, like a single room or a dining set you found on Marketplace. Bigger trips work from here too. Highway 3A leaves 97 right at Kaleden for Keremeos and Princeton, and a move north to Kelowna just means driving through Penticton on the way.
The hot tub can go too
If the old hot tub or the sun-faded patio set isn’t coming with you, we can take those as well. Whatever’s still good goes to our thrift store, not the landfill.
I have never been more impressed with a companies communication and the how hard and fast the crew works. The employees and the owner are very personable and respectful. As a realtor in the South Okanagan I would not hesitate to recommend Jeremy and his company!
- Does a Kaleden move cost more than one in Penticton?
- There’s usually no travel fee for Kaleden, which is 13 km from our yard in Penticton. Moves are charged by the hour, so a steep lot or a long carry affects your total more than the drive does.
- Can you move a house on a steep lot in Kaleden?
- Yes. On Kaleden’s hillside lots we plan for a longer carry when a truck can’t reach the door, and we handle stairs and tight side paths. Describe the access when you call, because it changes how long the move takes.
- Do you take small jobs in Kaleden?
- We do. Junk In The Trunk takes single rooms and Marketplace pickups as well as whole houses, and we’ve moved an eight-foot Bird of Paradise plant. Kaleden is close enough to Penticton that a small load still makes sense.
